Lovely kitten for adoption

Lovely kitten for adoption

We have received a mail(reproduced below) from Karun about three kitten he found. Compassionate souls who are cat lovers may contact him for adoption. Nothing in this world is greater than giving life to an orphaned animal.

Dear Sir,

I will be really grateful if your organisation could help me find loving homes for these adorable kittens. They are three in number and around six weeks old. All three are female.
They are getting more active with each passing day and slowly beginning to venture outside. The locality is not safe as there are many dogs.
Hence, I wish to relocate them as soon as possible.

You can contact us at the following numbers:

Thank you,

Karun

A nice puppy for adoption

I just received a call from Shefali about a loving puppy she found which she is not in a position to foster. She is looking for a really nice home which can keep the puppy with compassion. In her own words:
How the pup was found: While walking my dog on Sep 30 at about 6.30pm, I suddenly heard tiny yelps & screeching of bikes and as I turned, this tiny girl was trying to dodge vehicles coming from both sides.

She managed to get under a parked car in my neighboring apartment. It took the security guard, another helpful resident & me a good half hour to get her to come out…she was too scared and all shaking. I got her home cos if she was left there, she would’ve gone on to the main road and been run over FOR SURE! A tiny thing and with no sense of direction. Must have been abandoned for sure.

Once home: The lil one instantly responded to the love & caring she got when I held her and the moment I got her home, she went straight at the pedigree though I had kept water and milk as well. She didn’t seem to want any liquids last evening. Since this morning, every 1 hour she goes and takes her small bites of food and licks of water & milk at her own will & wish.

Behaviour: She seems to be a demanding princess. Wants constant attention. And, she’ll yelp and scream if she doesn’t see you around her and keeps following me everywhere in the house. The moment you come near her, she’ll start pawing at you to pet her & give her a belly rub. Surprisingly, she understands….SIT, NO, GO!

What’s interesting, she smartly steps outside the bed or her sleeping area and then pees or poops…so she seems like a smart cookie already. What’s interesting is that she has occupied my doggy’s (Sandy) bed & bowls. My doggy has been very generous but except that she growls when the lil one tries to go near her or play with her.

Been fostering her since then. Need your help to find her a loving home as I’ll have to schedule my Chennai (official) trip in a week’s time. She’s in good hands till she finds a loving home.

The craze for foreign breed dogs

We have been getting periodic calls asking for breed dogs (only) for adoption. In this connection I would like to make clear some points. We reiterate the fact that KRUPA is not a breeding centre for ‘high’ bred dogs. We collect unfortunate animals, breed or otherwise, which had been abandoned by their cruel owners and take care of them with love and compassion. We give them for adoption only to kind and understanding people. We are very choosy and cautious about to whom we give these dogs to avoid sending them to another traumatic life.

Keeping breed dogs as pets is a fashion statement in cities. The more exotic the breed is more vanity and pride it gives. This attitude has encouraged several dog-breeding centres, most of them illegal. The dogs are kept in crammed kennels and produce pups all their lives. Once they become unproductive, they are either abandoned or euthanised. This is an extremely cruel industry. Please do not hanker for breed dogs. Instead why don’t you adopt Indian dogs? Our dogs are much healthier and have natural immunity to all diseases. It is easy to maintain an Indian breed. They are much more loyal and loving than foreign breeds. And they are much more beautiful than a pug or a daschund! They live longer too.

Please think about adopting an Indian breed if you decide to have a pet.

Great Dane and Labrador for adoption

1.These are the pictures of a one-year-old Great Dane who has been given up by his masters as they were leaving the city. He is being currently fostered and looks forward to having a permanent home to call his own. He is extremely friendly and does not like being left alone. It is security and affection that he craves. If you think you can given him
a loving home, please contact Poornima@ 9880563690

2. A lovely and friendly Labrador, about one and half years old which has been abandoned by its owners, is available for adoption at KRUPA. You may visit our shelter to see him. Only genuine dog lovers may contact us.
Krupa’s conditions for adoption:
1.We normally discourage adoption to apartment dwellers. We have seen people either return them or abandon owing to various restrictions in apartments. Only people living in independent homes may contact.
2. Krupa’s cardinal principle is that no dog will be kept leashed. Visitors here may have noticed this. We believe in the freedom of pet animals. No leash no kennels please. Genuine dog lovers will understand this.
3. Once decided to adopt pets, they are part of our family and have to be treated as such. Please contact us only if you accept this doctrine.

Dog with deep wound full of maggots

This dog with a deep wound on its forehead was admitted to Krupa Hospital a few weeks ago. The wound was infested with hundreds of maggots which had begun to eat into the flesh. The maggots were
removed with turpentine oil after sedating the animal. This process was repeated every day for almost a week at the end of which the wound was cleared of all the maggots. Then the wound was cleaned and dressed daily. After almost a month, the wound has completely healed as is evident from the second picture. The dog was subsequently released.
